The ability to understand and share the feelings of another is known as Empathy.
It’s the basis of intimacy and close connection.
Empathy can be painful. That is one reason some times it is ignored. It is painful to place yourself in the shoes of the suffering, the disenfranchised, abused, wounded, tortured, hungry or rejected. It becomes pain by osmosis.
Fear in human beings may occur in response to a specific immediate danger. Or fear can aries in anticipation or expectation of a future threat perceived as a risk to body or life. This is because what we think creates our reality. So fear can be rational or appropriate and irrational (Phobia) and inappropriate.
Spiritual fear is not about specific immediate danger, and is typically based on a belief. A classic example of such a fear is the fear of eternal punishment, which is named hell, hades and many other names.
