Rumi : on Silence

Miracles in Silence

There are miracles in the silence.
The simple authenticity
of being true to your own intention
is a sacred gift woven for
the deep part of you.
That sub-conscious you
that has always longed
for a return to the embrace
of what conceived,
in love,
the concept
of human existence
in the first place.
Such simple and elegant events
like a smile,
the attention of a sincere listener,
a gentle touch,
create wonder
without a sound.

“Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet
Confinement of your aloneness
To learn
Anything or anyone
That does not bring you alive
Is too small for you.”
David Whyte

Solitude and silence teach me to love my brothers for what they are, not what they say. Thomas merton.
