Prayer

« Glossary Index

“Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one’s weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart.”
Mahatma Gandhi

Prayer is getting in touch with love, the channel for which is silence, listening to the internal flow or current from the divine via emotion, dream and intuition.

The dictionary also defines it as a heart-felt request for help, or expression of thanks or connection, addressed to God or an object of worship.

“Paying respectful and nonegocentric attention to something – I would call prayer. Keeping all inner spaces open at the same time; mind, heart and body at the same time is the center of all authentic spirituality.”

Richard Rohr

  • A one-ness with the universal spirit.

“In the act of effective prayer, one opens consciousness to a Divine influx”

Ernest Holmes

“Never let your ego get in the way of asking for help when in desperate need. We have all been helped at a point in our lives.”
Edmond Mbiaka
